Maintaining a Consciousness of Positive Expectation
“If you want it and expect it, it will be yours very soon.”
Esther Hicks
In Religious Science, the Law of Attraction is more than an interesting spiritual idea, it is the activity of Divine Consciousness continually expressing Itself as experience. We are always participating in this Universal Law because consciousness is always actively expressing. Dr. Ernest Holmes wrote, “The thought that we think sets the Law in motion.” That puts us right in the middle of the creative process. The thoughts we consistently entertain, the expectations we nurture, the feelings we energize, and the inner conversations we repeatedly have are giving direction to the Creative Law. Esther Hicks says, “You are a living, breathing, vibrating Being in a Universe of vibration.” That means attraction is not something happening somewhere outside of us. We are the activity of it. Our consciousness is broadcasting, Life is responding, and our experience is continually taking form through that magnificent relationship. Once we understand that, we live with a deeper awareness of the creative power we bring into every room, every relationship, every decision, and every possibility.
This is where the Law of Attraction becomes exciting, because we can consciously participate in the direction of our lives. We can become intentional about the vibration we bring to what we desire. We can think prosperity and feel prosperous. We can think love and become increasingly available to love. We can establish an inner atmosphere of success, fulfillment, health, joy, creativity, and abundance, and then move through the world as the person who already embodies that experience. Jen Sincero wrote, “What you focus on you create more of.” There is tremendous power in that simple statement. Where attention goes, creative energy gathers. What we consistently energize within consciousness begins to influence what we notice, what we expect, the choices we make, the opportunities we recognize, and the actions we are inspired to take. The Law of Attraction becomes wonderfully practical when we realize that being comes before having. We become inwardly aligned with the experience we desire, and from that alignment we begin thinking differently, choosing differently, responding differently, and showing up differently. When we show up differently, life has something different to work with.
Being the activity of the Law of Attraction means recognizing ourselves as individualized expressions of the infinite creative energy of Source. There is something wonderfully powerful about waking up and remembering, “I bring consciousness to this day.” I bring expectation. I bring energy. I bring intention. I bring the awareness through which I interpret possibilities and decide what deserves my attention. Esther Hicks wrote, “The better you feel, the more in alignment you are.” Alignment, then, becomes a way of living. We deliberately spend more time emotionally and mentally occupying the life we desire. We allow ourselves to feel the joy of it, the abundance of it, the freedom of it, the success of it, and the sheer deliciousness of knowing that Life contains possibilities we have not even discovered yet. We begin expecting good because we understand the nature of Divine Source as inexhaustible Good. This is when attraction becomes embodiment. We become an energetic YES to the life we desire.
Life is listening to what we consistently declare through our consciousness, so let’s give it something magnificent to work with! Think expansively. Expect boldly. Feel the reality of your good now. Remember, the Universe may be unlimited, but somebody still has to turn the doorknob! We are here to participate, to create, to express, and to experience more of the magnificent possibilities of Life. Being the activity of the Law of Attraction means knowing that the creative conversation between consciousness and experience is happening right now, and we have a voice in that conversation.
